Our goal at Pathways On Pleasure Valley is to create a safe and enjoyable horse riding trail experience for our visitors. We are an active tourist business with different components that make up our company.

Pathways On Pleasure Valley has a long and rich history. We are guiding guests on our private trails of 225 acres.

Weekend Staff Position: Physically Demanding Trail Guide and General Assistant with Strong Horse Background at Pathways on Pleasure Valley

Pathways on Pleasure Valley, a premier destination for equestrian enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, is currently seeking a dynamic and physically fit individual to join our team as a Trail Guide and General Assistant. This part-time, weekend opportunity is ideal for someone with a robust background in horse care and management who thrives in physically demanding outdoor settings and is passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to our guests.

Weekend Trail Guide and General Assistant with Strong Horse Background (Physically Demanding Role)

Part-time, Weekend Position

Responsibilities:

  • Lead horseback riding tours along our scenic trails, demonstrating stamina and physical endurance in varying terrain and weather conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive and physically involved care for our horses, including feeding, grooming, tacking, and health checks, requiring strength and dexterity.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, with the ability to assist in mounting and dismounting, and offering support throughout the ride.
  • Conduct trail maintenance and facility upkeep tasks, which include lifting, carrying, and using tools and equipment, underscoring the physical nature of the job.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service, with a focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment for guests of all ages and abilities.
  • Support the setup and takedown of events and special activities, often involving heavy lifting and extensive physical activity.
  • Fulfill a variety of general assistance duties that demand physical effort, including operational, administrative, and maintenance-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background and proven experience in horse care, equestrian sports, or equine management.
  • Exceptional physical fitness and the capacity to undertake strenuous activities for extended periods.
  • Excellent horsemanship skills, with the ability to confidently handle horses in diverse situations.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of delivering engaging and informative guidance to guests.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is highly desirable; additional certification in equine first aid is a plus.
  • Commitment to safety, with a focus on both guest and animal well-being.
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays is essential.

Trail Guides:

  • We have both part-time seasonal, and full-time opportunities. We are year-round operation.
  • Guiding trail rides from 1 hour to 2 hours in length and performing general barn duties and chores.
  • Daily activities include ranch chores, horse care, fence and equipment maintenance, trail maintenance and guiding trail rides.
  • Previous riding experience and horsemanship required.
  • Seasonal position from May through October.

Requirements for Applicants:

  • All positions are required to dress in western shirts or english riding outfit.
  • Must have strong work ethic and willing to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Applicants must be at least 18yrs of age and legal to work in Canada.
  • We are a weekend-holiday operation, you must be able to also work weekends and holidays.
  • We are now accepting applications for the Spring, Summer, Fall Season for both full time and part-time. positions.
